Mules and donkeys have served us as
companion animals, therapy animals, war animals, work and
pleasure animals. The North American Saddle Mule & Donkey Association's
Hall of Fame is established to recognize those mules and
donkeys exhibiting a very high level of achievement and
service over a lifetime. |

Minimum requirements for consideration for induction into
the NASMA Hall of Fame
|
- Mule or Donkey shall have a current registration
with NASMDA for a minimum of 5 years.
- Owner of nominated Mule or Donkey must be a
member in good standing with NASMDA.
- Mule or Donkey must be at least 15 years of age
or deceased. Mule or Donkey must be retired and not
have received points from a NASMDA sanctioned show
for a minimum of 12 months.

Submission Guidelines

- The nominee must have been outstanding as a sire,
dam, competitor, or must have brought exceptional
visibility to the mules' and donkeys’ contribution to
man’s endeavors.
- Mules and Donkeys may be submitted for consideration
by any member in good standing with NASMDA.
- A write-up should accompany the submission
explaining why the animal deserves a permanent place in
the NASMDA Hall of Fame.
- Hall of Fame inductees should have demonstrated
qualities to show that they are true ambassadors of
their breed.
- Nominators must submit as complete a biography as
possible on each nominee and may include copies of
photos of accomplishments, a list of prominent
offspring, articles from major publications and/or
awards. The more information provided on the nominee
that fits the criteria, the better the possibility of
selection for the Hall of Fame.
- Please include the mule’s or donkey’s NASMDA
registered name, registration number and date of birth
and death if known.
- A committee will review the nominations and may
decide to award 0 or more of the nominees depending on
the strength of their qualifications.

Nominees shall be voted on by the NASMDA BOD and
inductees announced at least 60 days prior to the NASMDA
annual meeting in Shelbyville, TN. Awards are to be
presented to the current and/or past owner(s) at the annual
meeting. |
