The Extreme Trail Challenge is a timed and judged competition through an obstacle course that is designed not only to push equine and rider teams out of their traditional "comfort zones," but also to test communication between animal and rider and the horse/mule/donkeymanship skills and athletic abilities of each competitor. Spectators will find the competition exciting and entertaining to watch while contenders addressed its challenges in a race for prizes, and the title of "All Star Extreme Trail Champion"

The "ALL STAR EXTREME TRAIL CHALLENGE" will take place Fri. Sept 12 at 6:00PM at the Missouri Expo Center, Columbia, MO.

THE RACE COURSE
The course is likely to include obstacles and activities such as: saddling the equine, dragging and jumping obstacles, loading into a trailer, backing up through a pattern, pole bending, navigating a log jumble, working gates etc.

OBJECTIVES AND JUDGING: The "ALL STAR EXTREME TRAIL CHALLENGE" will be a timed event during which the performance of each equine and rider team will be judged on each obstacle for quality of horse/mule/donkeymanship. Judges will award points on a scale of 1-10 for the horse and rider’s performance through each obstacle based on the following criteria:
bullet horse/mule/donkeymanship,
bullet cadence,
bullet control,
bullet equine’s attitude, and
bullet overall execution.

Horses/mules/donkeys and riders will be required to complete each obstacle within a given time in order to receive points. If an obstacle is not completed within the given time frame, the contestant will be flagged and must move on to the next obstacle. Times will be translated into points, with the highest overall score winning the race.
